We recognize that health and happiness go hand-in-hand. That’s why Protective offers employees and their eligible dependants a choice of subsidized medical, dental and vision plans. Employees can select the coverage that best meets their family’s needs from among multiple options offered through BlueCross BlueShield, UnitedHealthcare, Delta Dental and UnitedHealthcare Vision. To make it even easier, premiums can be paid on a pre-tax basis through payroll deduction.
Protective is also dedicated to providing an environment that enhances the physical and emotional well-being of all our employees. Our ProHealth Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program ("EAP") were established to help us do just that. Through these programs, employees have easy access to an on-staff registered nurse, nutritionist and EAP counselor. Some sites have additional wellness support services, including a fitness center, walking trails and on-site immunizations.
A popular feature of our ProHealth program is HealthMiles, which is an incentive program that rewards participants with cash based on their activity level and biometrics. It's one of the reason we have been designated as a Gold-level Well Workplace by the Wellness Council of America.
Through our MoneyMatters Program, we offer a range of financial benefits to help employees and their families feel more secure and financially prepared for the future. We provide all employees with basic group term life insurance for themselves and their eligible dependents. Eligible employees are also automatically enrolled in the company’s pension plan, which is 100% funded by Protective. In addition, our employees can opt to obtain long-term disability insurance, contribute pre-tax dollars to medical and dependent-care flexible spending accounts, and participate in the 401(k) and Stock Ownership Plan, with matching contributions from Protective.
